The legendary Beatle and solo artist Paul McCartney will kick off his new tour Monday, Sept. 29, at Acrisure Arena in Palm Desert, and to mark the occasion, the Desert Sun is launching a bracket-style poll to determine the best Paul McCartney song of all time.
From Beatles classics to Wings hits and solo gems, 16 iconic tracks will go head-to-head in a fan-powered tournament. Think of it as March Madness for music lovers — only this time, it’s melodies battling for glory.
How it works
The 16 songs were seeded by Desert Sun editors and placed into a four-bracket tournament. Voting opens at 9 a.m. Monday, Sept. 2, and continues round-by-round until a winner is crowned on Monday, Sept. 22, a week before McCartney takes the stage in Palm Desert.
Each round will last a few days, and fans can vote once an hour per matchup. We’ll update the standings and share highlights from each round — including which songs dominate and which pull off surprise upsets.
McCartney’s catalog spans decades and genres, from tender ballads to rock anthems. Whether you’re partial to Beatles-era brilliance or solo-era swagger, this is your chance to help decide which song reigns supreme.
So cue up your playlists, revisit your favorites, and get ready to vote. The bracket begins Monday, Sept. 2 — and the final countdown starts now.
