Most recently, he is accused of holding up a liquor store shortly before noon on Thursday, Aug. 7, in the 16000 block of Bear Valley Road in Hesperia, sheriff’s officials said.
“[He] asked the clerk for condoms, before using a silver/black handgun to demand money from inside of the cash register,” the sheriff’s department said in a written statement. The suspect hen fled the area in a white, 2006 Buick Rendezvous SUV.

During a search of the home, investigators found the allegedly stolen cash, the condoms taken from the story, as well as a mask and clothing matching the one worn by the robber, officials said.
The handgun believed to have been used in the crime was recovered from Mena’s SUV, sheriff’s officials said.
“After further investigation, Mena and the handgun were consisten with the video surveillance from four other armed robbers that occurred [between January and April], in multiple cities throughout San Bernardino County,” according to the statement.
Investigators were continuing to look for any additional crimes the suspect may be linked to.
Mena pleaded not guilty Tuesday to four counts of armed robbery, and also denied four special allegation of using a gun in the crimes and one special allegation of having prior felony convictions, San Bernardino County Superior Court records show.
He was being held without bail pending further legal proceedings.
