USC’s Week 1 matchup against Fresno State moved to Friday

We have known USC’s 2026 football schedule for several months now. However, on Friday, we got a notable development, as one of the Trojans’ games has been moved up a day.

Friday morning, Fox announced its Fox College Football Friday schedule for the 2026 season. The slate will kick off with USC’s Week 1 matchup against Fresno State at the Coliseum.

The game, which was previously scheduled for Saturday, September 5, will now be played on Friday, September 4. It will kick off at 6:00 p.m. Pacific time and be televised by Fox.

This marks the third consecutive season that the Trojans will play a Friday night home game. USC faced Rutgers on a Friday in 2024 and Northwestern last year. The Trojans won both games.

While the game will be played in Week 1 of the college football season, it will not be the Trojans’ first game of the year. USC will open its 2026 campaign in Week Zero against San Jose State, six days prior.
