Over the past few weeks, USC has been in high gear on the recruiting trail. The Trojans have had numerous high-profile prospects on campus as they lock to look up another top recruiting class in the 2027 cycle.
Last week, one of USC’s photo shoots for recruits caught some attention on the internet. Notably, the players were wearing all-white uniforms, something that the Trojans have never worn before.
However, Antonio Morales of The Athletic quickly confirmed that USC has no plan to wear the uniforms in an actual game. Rather, they are merely for recruiting photo shoots.
This honestly seems like a great compromise between tradition and creativity. USC has some of the most iconic uniforms in college football, and should not be wearing alternates on the field. But if recruits just want to have some fun and take a few photos in all-white uniforms? I don’t see a problem with that.
As the great Nick Saban once said, “We have two [uniforms]. Red jerseys at home. White jerseys away. Our main concern around here is who is wearing them.” The Trojans’ focus should be not on new uniforms, but rather on bringing in elite players to wear the iconic ones that they already have.
