USC baseball rises to No. 17 in USA Today Coaches Poll

Over the weekend, the USC baseball team bounced back in a big way with a three-game sweep of Purdue at Dedeaux Field. With the victories, the Trojans improved to 34-11 on the season and 16-8 in Big Ten play.

Following the sweep, USC moved up in the latest USA Today Coaches Poll. The Trojans rose six spots and are now ranked No. 17.

USC is one of four Big Ten teams in the top 25. Crosstown rival UCLA remained No. 1, followed by No. 14 Oregon and No. 16 Nebraska.

The Trojans were swept by both the Bruins and the Huskers earlier this month. They will travel to Eugene to face the Ducks during the final week of the regular season.

This week, USC will visit UC Irvine on Tuesday night, before hosting Rutgers for a three-game series this weekend. With just 11 games remaining in the regular season, every contest going forward will be crucial for the Trojans as they push for a second consecutive NCAA Tournament berth.
