USC baseball continues to rise in rankings, now consensus top ten team

Last week, USC baseball entered the top ten of the USA Today Coaches Poll for the first time. This week, the Trojans continued to move up in the rankings, and are now a consensus top ten team.

In this week’s USA Today Coaches Poll, the Trojans rose two spots, and are now ranked No. 8 in the country. In addition, Perfect Game has them at No. 7, and Baseball America ranked them ninth. D1Baseball is the only major rankings service that did not have USC in its top ten, ranking the Trojans at No. 12.

The Trojans are coming off of a 2-2 week in which they suffered just their second and third losses of the 2026 season. After falling to Oregon State at home last Tuesday, USC took two of three from Maryland on the road over the weekend.

Tonight, the Trojans will host UC Santa Barbara at Dedeaux Field. USC will then travel to Westwood for its biggest series of the season this weekend against crosstown rival UCLA. The Bruins are currently the unanimous No. 1 team in the country, with the Trojans not far behind, setting it up as the series of the year in the Big Ten.
