A new coffee shop will soon be opening its doors on the Miracle Mile.
Trail Coffee Roasters is opening a new location in Stockton, about two miles from its downtown location. The cafe will open at 2001 Pacific Ave. at the former Poppy Coffee, which recently closed permanently. A Reddit thread mentions possible reasons for Poppy Coffee’s closure, but the reason remains unknown.
A “coming soon” sign and Trail Coffee Roasters signage are already up. When the coffee shop opens, it will mark the third Trail Coffee Roasters in Stockton and the fifth in San Joaquin County. Other locations are at University of the Pacific, downtown and Lodi.
“We offer a diverse selection of specialty grade Arabica coffee, including fully washed, honey-processed, and natural-processed varieties,” according to the company. “We also offer freshly roasted coffee to enhance its unique flavor profile, ensuring that you experience the best characteristics of every coffee.”

What’s on the menu at Trail Coffee Roasters?
Menu items include matcha latte, cold brew and chai tea. Some food items include bagel breakfast sandwich, ham and swiss croissant and cinnamon rolls.
Customers can also purchase roasted coffee beans to enjoy Trail Coffee Roasters from the comfort of their home.
“We roast in small batches every week, which means you get the freshest coffee delivered right to your door,” the Trail Coffee Roasters website states.
Trail Coffee Roasters beans are grown by Jesus Mountain Coffee Company in Nicaragua. Trail Coffee Roasters started with the farm before expanding to opening Trail Coffee Roasters.
“Our family farm, Cerro de Jesus, is located in the highest mountain region of Northern Nicaragua. Abundant in biodiversity, this mountainous landscape and vibrant climate cultivate the potential for world class coffee flavors and aromas,” the Producers Market website states. “As our adventure continued, we opened a cafe and coffee roasting company, Trail Coffee, in Stockton, California. There you can find the fruits of our Cerro de Jesus community, and coffees from other relationships that we have cultivated along our journey.”
