Swipe through the ten UCLA Bruins drafted in 2026 MLB Draft

The UCLA Bruins baseball team had four players drafted on the first day of the 2026 MLB Draft and six on the second day to be heavily represented over the weekend.

Eight of the 10 Bruins who heard their name called were in the Top-10 rounds, which breaks their previous record of six players drafted in first 10 rounds in 2010. Here were all of the players that joined an MLB team over the weekend.

No. 1 Roch Cholowsky, SS

Despite the MLB ranking him as the second best prospect in the draft, Roch Cholowsky continued to be projected as the top pick in the draft. That’s exactly where he ended up going as the Chicago White Sox added the talented shortstop to their roster.

No. 38 Logan Reddemann, RHP

The UCLA ace was drafted in the second round and after putting together a stellar season for the Bruins, he lands with the Colorado Rockies. Reddemann ended up hearing his name called seven spots after his MLB prospect ranking.

No. 70 Mulivai Levu, 1B

Mulivai Levu was drafted in the Competitive Balance-Round B to the Cincinnatti Reds eight-picks after where he was projected to go by the MLB rankings.

No. 111 Roman Martin, SS

Roman Martin was the second Bruins shortstop to be drafted this year as he remains on the west coast by landing on the Athletics in the fourth round 17 spots ahead of his MLB ranking.

No. 146 Cal Randall, RHP

The St. Louis Cardinals made a new addition to their bullpen by picking Cal Randall 72 spots ahead of where the MLB had him ranked.

No. 161 Will Gasparino, OF

Will Gasparino was the second Bruins player to be drafted by the Cardinals in the fifth round, but unlike Randall, Gasparino dropped 89 spots from where the MLB had him ranked.

No. 222 Dean West, OF

The first Bruins player taken outside of the top-5 rounds was Dean West, who was unranked by the MLB entering the draft. The Toronto Blue Jays snagged him the left-handed batter in the seventh round.

No. 256 Cashel Dugger, C

The Bruins final player to be taken in the top-10 rounds of the draft was Cashel Dugger in the ninth round by the Washington Nationals. The catcher was also UCLA’s final MLB ranked player drafted as he went 29 spots below his projection.

No. 587 Michael Barnett, RHP

Right-hander Michael Barnett was chosen by the Minnesota Twins as the first of two Bruins taken in the 20th round of the draft.

No. 609 Justin Lee, RHP

The second Bruins player taken in the 20th round and fourth UCLA pitcher chosen this year was Justin Lee by the Philadelphia Phillies.
