On Aug. 30, Stockton police responded to Albany and Astor drives following a report of a person shot.

At the scene, officers located a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to a hospital for surgery, police said.

On Sept. 16, detectives were notified that the man had died from his injuries while hospitalized.

The first suspect arrested in connection with the homicide was 23-year-old Walter Burgess. He was arrested during a traffic stop on Sept. 22, while riding as a passenger in a vehicle, police said.

It’s unclear how Holloway and Burgess know each other.

Holloway is set to appear for arraignment at 1:30 p.m. Oct. 13 at the San Joaquin County Superior Court.

The Stockton Police Department said the investigation is ongoing.
