Stockton homeowner fatally shoots, kills man during attempted break-in

A homeowner fatally shot a man who attempted to break into his Stockton home on Valentine’s Day, police said. 

At about 1:30 a.m. on Feb. 14, in the 3600 block of Appleton Court a homeowner shot a 41-year-old man, police said.

According to police, the man had attempted to break into the owner’s residence. The man was taken to a hospital where he died from his injuries, police said. 

Detectives responded and assumed the investigation, which remains ongoing.
