A crash between an unmarked sheriff’s office vehicle with a male deputy and a Tesla with a male driver resulted in the deputy and driver being taken to a local hospital with minor injuries, he said.

The sheriff’s office vehicle is suspected of being broadsided, Hourigan said. Both vehicles were towed, he added.

Investigation by the police department is ongoing, said Cmdr. Eric Vazquez of Ventura Police.

No other information was available and Ventura City Fire and Ventura County Sheriff’s Office were not immediately available for comment.
