San Joaquin County to hold 24 free food distributions in April: See locations, schedule

San Joaquin County will be holding 24 food distributions throughout the county in April.

The county’s Food For You Program will be distributing food at select locations to eligible San Joaquin County residents. The food items include shelf-stable canned vegetables, fruit, meat, and dry foods such as rice or pasta, a San Joaquin County news release states

The news release states that “food may run out before the scheduled ending time.”

Here are when and where the 24 food distributions will be happening in April. Don’t know if you qualify? Check the total monthly income limits below and find out before you go.

When are the food distributions?

The food distributions will be happening in multiple areas in the county over six different days in the month of April. With some day only having one food distribution to other days having multiple from Stockton to Tracy.

How do I know if I am eligible for the Food For You program?

To be eligible to receive free food, residents must “self-certify” that they are a San Joaquin County resident and meet the income guidelines, the news release states.

“It is a program operated by the San Joaquin County Human Services Agency (HSA), Aging & Community Services Bureau,” the Food For You website states. “The program provides free food to income-eligible residents in San Joaquin County.”

The be eligible to receive free food your total monthly income can not exceed the program income guidelines listed below.

For each additional person in the household residents can add $1,053.59, according to San Joaquin County officials.

What is the site for my ZIP code?

The food distributions will kick off on Wednesday, April 2, with one distribution site scheduled from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Lodi Salvation Army at 525 W. Lockeford St. in Lodi. This distribution is for the ZIP codes 95240, 95241, 95242, 95220 and 95632.

There are two new sites at Community Partnership for Families and one at the Support Life Foundation.
