A winning ticket from Monday’s Powerball drawing was sold at Star Market in Salinas.
The lucky ticket matched all five white-ball numbers but missed the Powerball, earning a $708,443 prize.
While no one hit the jackpot Monday, there were 322,154 winners, with the Salinas ticket and one sold in Arizona securing the Match 5 prize.
The odds of choosing all five winning numbers (minus the Powerball) is 1 in 11,688,054.
The winning numbers for the Monday, Dec. 15 drawing are: 23, 35, 59, 63, 68, and the Powerball is 2. The “Power Play” multiplier is 4x.
The “Power Play” 4x multiplier did not apply to these prizes because they did not include the Powerball.
Located at 275 S. Main St., Star Market will receive a retailer bonus for selling the winning ticket.
In California, it is public record to know who won a Powerball, Mega Millions or California Lottery jackpot and where the winning ticket was sold.
The Salinas winner has 180 days from the date of the draw to claim their prize. Powerball jackpot winners have up to a year from the date of the draw to claim it.
Jackpot now an estimated $1.25 billion
The Powerball jackpot rose to an estimated $1.15 billion before the Dec. 15 drawing.
The cash value of Monday’s jackpot, which was the sixth-largest Powerball jackpot in the history of the game, was an estimated $524.7 million.
But the jackpot, now an estimated $1.25 billion, rose once again after no one won on Monday night.
2025 has been a historic year for the Powerball. In September, the second-largest jackpot in the game’s history, which was an estimated $1.787 billion, was won by two tickets sold in Montana and Texas.

The next drawing will take place on Wednesday, Dec. 17, just after 8 p.m.
