Amid a lackluster offseason by many accounts, the Golden State Warriors are prepared to face the writing on the wall. Although Stephen Curry and Kristaps Porzingis are fully healthy, the Warriors will be without both Moses Moody and Jimmy Butler III to begin the year.
Considering Golden State has made zero new free agent additions to this point, many expect the Warriors to hover around NBA Play-In Tournament territory once again, even with recent No. 11 overall pick Yaxel Lendeborg.
According to NBA insider Danny Emerman, long-time members of the organization, Curry, Draymond Green, and Steve Kerr are aware that the Warriors are no longer title contenders, but their priority is “going out together with dignity.”
Barring significant changes, Golden State seems destined to face an uphill battle in the Western Conference, a task that will prove even more difficult if the team remains unhealthy.
