Boys Basketball
Foothill 61, Shasta 53
The Cougars (12-12, 5-3 EAL) staged an incredible second-half comeback to defeat their crosstown and league rivals in the Shasta Wolves (12-12, 2-6 EAL) on Feb. 3. Foothill snapped a three-game losing streak with the win, and they now sit tied with Pleasant Valley at 5-3 in the EAL. See highlights from the game.
Enterprise 56, Pleasant Valley 39
The Hornets (20-3, 6-2 EAL) got their revenge against the Vikings (12-13, 5-3 EAL), one of the few teams to defeat the Hornets this season. It was an important 17-point win over one of the top teams in the Northern Section and helps Enterprise on its quest for an EAL title.
U-Prep 78, Lassen 49
The Panthers (21-4, 8-0 NAL) clinched the 2026 Northern Athletic League title with a 29-point win over the Grizzlies (10-12, 4-4 NAL) on Feb. 6. The victory marked U-Prep’s 14th straight win as they head into the final two games of the season.
Shasta 56, Enterprise 51
The Wolves (12-12, 2-6 EAL) stunned the Hornets (20-3, 6-2 EAL) on Feb. 6 to even up the season series between the two rivals. Although it doesn’t do much for Shasta in terms of a league title, it should give the Wolves some momentum heading into the final week of the regular season. It’s a crushing loss for Enterprise as the Hornets are now tied with Chico at 6-2 in the EAL. Enterprise and Chico will face off on the last day of the regular season, Friday, Feb. 13.
Girls Basketball
Pleasant Valley 59, Enterprise 57 (2OT)
The Vikings (19-7, 5-3 EAL) took down the Hornets (15-9, 3-5 EAL) in a thrilling double overtime battle on Feb. 3. The win creates some separation between the Vikings and Hornets for third place in the EAL behind Chico and Foothill.
Enterprise 49, Shasta 35
The Hornets (15-9, 3-5 EAL) bounced back from their double overtime loss to defeat their rivals in the Shasta Wolves (7-15, 1-7 EAL) on Feb. 5. The Hornets sit in fourth place in the EAL while the Wolves are tied with Red Bluff for last place.
West Valley 46, Yreka 30
The Eagles (17-8, 7-1 NAL) defeated the Miners (13-13, 4-4 NAL) on Feb. 6 to win their third straight game and seventh straight league game since losing to Lassen on Jan. 7. West Valley is nearing a league title, but they’ll have to get through U-Prep to get there.
U-Prep 65, Lassen 49
The Panthers (16-7, 7-1 NAL) took down the Grizzlies (6-15, 2-6 NAL) on Feb. 6 to maintain a first-place tie with West Valley in the NAL standings. U-Prep and West Valley will face off on Friday, Feb. 13 — the last day of the regular season. As long as both teams win their next games, the winner of the faceoff will take home the 2025-26 NAL title.
Boys Soccer
U-Prep 3, West Valley 2
The Panthers (9-10-4, 7-0-1 NAL) picked up a big win over a tough NAL competitor in the Eagles (6-9-2, 4-3-1 EAL) on Feb. 3 to extend their win streak to eight games. U-Prep maintains sole control of the NAL standings with an undefeated league record.
Foothill 4, Shasta 3
The Cougars (9-8-1, 2-5-1) defeated the Wolves (10-6-2, 2-5-1 EAL) on Feb. 4 behind a four-goal performance from sophomore Daniel Valdivia. It was Foothill’s second win against an EAL team and puts the Cougars in a three-way tie in last place with Shasta and Red Bluff.
Anderson 2, U-Prep 2
The Cubs (12-9-2, 5-2-1) came away with a huge tie against the Panthers (9-10-4, 7-0-1 NAL) on Feb. 5. Anderson became the first NAL team to at least tie with the Panthers and the Cubs now have control of second place in the league standings.
Shasta 2, Enterprise 0
The Wolves (10-6-2, 2-5-1 EAL) defeated their crosstown rivals in the Hornets (8-5-6, 3-5 EAL) on Feb. 6. The loss bumps Enterprise a few games back from the No. 1 and 2 spots in the EAL, but with how few games are left, the league title will either go to Pleasant Valley or Chico.
Girls Soccer
West Valley 3, U-Prep 1
The Eagles (16-0-2, 8-0 NAL) took down the Panthers (11-9-1, 6-2 NAL) on Feb. 3 to maintain their perfect league record and undefeated season. The win solidifies West Valley’s spot at the top of the NAL standings and with its win over Yreka two days later, the Eagles are just one win away from clinching a league title.
U-Prep 3, Anderson 0
The Panthers (11-9-1, 6-2 EAL) bounced back from a tough loss against West Valley to shut out the Cubs (2-14-3, 0-6-2 NAL) on Feb. 5. U-Prep still has a chance to win the NAL title, but they need to win both remaining games while the undefeated West Valley Eagles lose both.
Shasta 5, Enterprise 0
The Wolves (7-8-3, 4-3-1 EAL) defeated their rivals in the Hornets (5-11, 0-8 EAL) on Feb. 6 to keep control of second place in the league. However, Pleasant Valley has clinched the title with a perfect 8-0 EAL record while Enterprise sits in last with a 0-8 record.
Foothill 2, Red Bluff 1
The Cougars (10-3-6, 3-3-2 EAL) edged past the Spartans (13-5-4, 2-3-3 EAL) on Friday, Feb. 6. The Cougars haven’t lost a game since Jan. 23, but they still sit in fourth place in the EAL standings.
