Recent NBA mock draft links Warriors to recent NCAA Champion

Having missed the playoffs after falling to the Phoenix Suns in the NBA Play-In Tournament, the Warriors will have another lottery selection in the upcoming 2026 NBA Draft.

Currently projected to have the 11th overall selection, Golden State will have many different options.

One of those could be NCAA Champion and Big Ten Player of the Year, Yaxel Lendeborg.

In a recent mock draft done by SBNation, they have the Warriors selecting the 6’9″ Michigan forward. Given his size and defensive versatility, this could be an impact selection for Golden State.

In three college seasons, Lendeborg averaged 15.5 points, 9.5 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 1.7 blocks and 1.2 steals.

However, Lendeborg is one of the oldest rookies in this class, already 23 years old.

But, given the Warriors’ desire to re-establish themselves as contenders, it’s conceivable that they try and select the most “NBA-ready” prospect.
