Readers voted El Diamante baseball player D.J. Gonzalez as the Visalia Times-Delta Tulare County high school athlete of the week.
In an online poll that closed on April 10, Gonzalez received 8,255 votes, or a 44.82% majority, of the 18,417 responses.
Gonzalez went 4-for-5 with a stolen base to help the Miners beat Valley Center 8-0 at the SD Lions Tournament. El Diamante went 4-0 during tournament play.

All high school varsity players from Tulare County can be on the ballot. Nominations must be received by Monday morning following that week’s games for consideration.
