Rancho San Miguel Markets announced a two-day hiring event ahead of the grand opening of a new North Stockton store in February.
The hiring event will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 8 and Friday, Jan. 9 at the Hilton Stockton at 2323 Grand Canal Blvd. The hiring event is for the new Rancho San Miguel Markets location at 2323 W. Hammer Lane.
“We’re not just opening a store — we’re building opportunity,” said Kim Phibbs, Vice President of Human Resources at PAQ, Inc. in a news release. “Our team is excited to meet local residents, introduce them to our company culture, and create more than 100 new jobs in the Stockton area.”
According to the company, Rancho San Miguel Markets is a “100% employee-owned company” that offers competitive wages and a benefits package with medical, dental, vision, 401(k) retirement plans, employee stock ownership opportunities, and more. Those attending the hiring event can expect on-the-spot-hiring, interviews with HR managers, and to learn more about open positions and to learn more about the company.
“Applicants should bring two forms of identification, such as a driver’s license and Social Security card,” the company states on the news release.

As of Wednesday, Jan. 7, there were 27 open positions listed on the Rancho San Miguel Markets website, which included a grocery combo manager.
According to the job posting, “the Grocery Combo Manager Manages, delegates and coordinates activities of the Grocery and Front-End departments including maximizing sales while achieving labor goals, development of staff, expense control, merchandising/displays, Grocery, Frozen Food and Dairy inventory levels, and that all applicable laws, policies and procedures are followed while insuring a friendly shopping environment for our customers and positive working conditions for our employees.”
This position is salary-based at $69,000 – $99,360.
The grocery general clerk role which will assist the “Combo or Grocery Manager in cleaning, stocking, and managing the sales floor’s day-to-day operations,” is hourly based at a pay rate of $16.90 to $21.50.
Another hourly paid job is the combo clerk (cashier). The position has the same pay rate of $16.60 to $21.50.
“Combo Clerks are crucial in in-store operations, often being customers’ final point of contact. They are responsible for accurately processing various forms of payment for store merchandise,” the combo clerk (cashier) job listing states. “At the start of their shift, each Combo Clerk is assigned a cash drawer, which they must reconcile accurately by the end of their shift. Additionally, Combo Clerks assist with responsibilities in other departments as needed.”
