Quinten Post joins Grizzlies after Warriors fail to match offer sheet

The Golden State Warriors have officially passed on matching the offer sheet that two-year center Quinten Post signed with the Memphis Grizzlies, according to ESPN’s Anthony Slater. This will end the Dutchman’s tenure with the team after two seasons, having appeared in 109 games for the franchise.

In those two years, Post averaged 7.8 points, 3.8 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 0.5 blocks in 16.9 minutes per game. Not bad for a former No. 52 overall pick. Looking ahead to Memphis, Post will join a young Grizzlies team that was in need of frontcourt depth behind Zach Edey and recent No. 3 overall pick Cameron Boozer.

As for Golden State, they’ll have to look elsewhere for a third center after losing Post and failing to bring back Kevon Looney, who signed with the Los Angeles Lakers Tuesday.
