A paraglider died after crashing in a remote area of upper Ojai on April 17, according to authorities.
The Ventura County Fire Department responded to emergency calls of a paraglider going down around 4:30 p.m. in the upper Ojai area, Andrew Dowd, spokesperson for the department said.

The location of the paraglider was in a remote area near Gridley Trail off of Nordhoff Ridge Road in Los Padres National Forest, said Sgt. Thomas Miller of Ventura County Sheriff’s Office.
Ventura County Fire responded with a ground crew but due to the steep terrain, accessing the paraglider’s location was difficult, Dowd said.
A paramedic, on a Ventura County Air Unit helicopter, was lowered down to help the paraglider, who was an adult female, Dowd said. The woman was declared dead on scene, he said.
Air unit responders moved the body of the woman by helicopter to Camarillo Airport and the body of the woman was then released to the Ventura County Medical Examiner’s Office, Miller said.
No other details were available, authorities said.
