Palm Desert's Luke Ringkamp wins prestigious AJGA event in Florida

Rallying from eight shots down with just 13 holes to play, Palm Desert’s Luke Ringkamp fired a final-round 6-under 64 to win the American Junior Golf Association’s Team TaylorMade Invitational at Pelican Golf Club in Belleair, Fla.

Ringkamp, ranked fourth in the AJGA rankings before the event, finished the three-day tournament at 13-under 197, having started with rounds of 65 and 68. That still left Ringkamp five shots behind second-round leader Bodie Brumlow of Cartersville, Ga. But as Ringkamp was shooting 64 in the final round, Brumlow stumbled to a 72, still good enough to finish second.

The tournament is one of the most prestigious events on the AJGA circuit and was won in 2025 by Charlie Woods, son of Hall of Famer Tiger Woods. The younger Woods finished 28th in the 72-player event this year. It is Ringkamp’s second AJGA victory, having won the 2025 Rolex Tournament of Champions.

Ringkamp, 18, is committed to play college golf for Pepperdine in the fall. Before that, he is scheduled to play in a U.S. Open qualifying tournament in Sacramento, the U.S. Junior Amateur, the Western Amateur near Chicago and qualifying for the U.S. Amateur. He was recently medalist in a U.S. Open local qualifying tournament at Ironwood Country Club in Palm Desert, his home course.
