Lopez died at the scene, officers said.

“During investigation it was reported a silver SUV made an unsafe lane change from the No. 1 lane, in the direction of motorcyclist in the No. 2 lane, which caused the motorcyclist to collide with the rear of a construction water truck,” according to the statement.

The SUV continued southbound following the collision.
