After enduring the standard rookie redshirt year most running backs take with the Los Angeles Rams, Blake Corum broke out last season. His speed, patience, and vision equipped the team with an explosive threat in the backfield, something they haven’t had since Cam Akers.
The Rams also have their first one-two punch at the position since Todd Gurley and C.J. Anderson, as Corum and Kyren Williams combined for over 2,300 yards from scrimmage last season and over 400 yards from scrimmage in three postseason games.
However, the numbers show that Corum might be the most undervalued player in the league.
With the Rams set to increase both Corum’s usage and their usage of multiple tight end formations, Corum is returning to the style of offense that he saw at Michigan. Corum capped off a hard-fought collegiate career by running the Wolverines to the National Championship with 1,245 yards and 27 rushing touchdowns in his final season.
Perhaps with similar looks, Corum will run the Rams to a Super Bowl.
