What do you get the team that already has everything? Why not more of what they already have? The Los Angeles Rams don’t have any specific needs, but a team that is loaded on offense with a Hall of Fame-caliber quarterback in Matthew Stafford can always use more weapons.
As the 2026 NFL Draft draws nearer, Bleacher Report’s Gary Davenport picked a player who could help every team this season. For the Rams, he tapped veteran receiver Keenan Allen as someone who would give L.A. a stable floor of pass-catchers with Puka Nacua and Davante Adams already on the roster.
The team could use an upgrade at the third wideout spot, though, and there are some veterans still looking for work who would fit that bill.
Keenan Allen has reportedly indicated that if he plays at all in 2026, he wants it to be for the Chargers. But he might reconsider if he can stay in L.A.—and potentially have an even better shot at a Super Bowl than he would with the Bolts.
The 33-year-old hasn’t had a 1,000-yard season since 2023, but as his 81 catches for 777 yards last year indicate, he can still add value to an NFL offense as an underneath target.
The appeal is obvious for Allen: He’d stay in Los Angeles and would play in arguably the best offensive system for his entire career. He also wouldn’t be tasked with doing much ahead of Nacua and Adams.
Allen proved in 2025 that he can contribute despite his age, but he needs to be on a team that only needs him at times throughout a game and wouldn’t rely on him over the course of a 60-minute affair. The Rams are one of the few teams that fall under this category.
The issue is that it would leave the Rams with two aging veterans at their WR2 and WR3 positions. That is a lot of faith and short-term thinking of a team that has Super Bowl aspirations beyond 2026. Signing Allen might not prevent the Rams from taking a receiver early in the draft, though, and would give the team a stable floor on offense this year.
