New Big Ten team tops USA TODAY Sports Men's Basketball Coaches Poll

USA TODAY Sports released its Men’s Basketball Coaches Poll, which featured six Big Ten Conference Teams. The No. 1 Michigan Wolverines replaced the No. 6 Purdue Boilermakers at the top.

On Monday, a the Boilermakers dropped five spots after losing to the No. 4 Iowa State Cyclones, but a Big Ten Conference remained on top with the undefeated Wolverines moving up. Below them were the No. 2 Arizona Wildcats and the No. 3 Duke Blue Devils, followed by the Cyclones and the No. 5 UConn Huskies to round out the Top five.

The No. 9 Michigan State Spartans also made it in the Top-10, even after their six point loss to the Blue Devils. The No. 13 Illinois Fighting Illini were the next Big Ten team and the last in the Top 20 ranked.

The final Big Ten teams were the No. 22 undefeated Nebraska Cornhuskers and the No. 23 Iowa Hawkeyes. The Cornhuskers were previously unranked and jumped up six spots to appear on the poll. Whereas, the Hawkeyes jumped up two ranks from last week.

Five other Big Ten teams received votes including the UCLA Bruins with 35 votes, the Wisconsin Badgers had 32 votes, the USC Trojans received 20 votes, the Indiana Hoosiers had 16 votes and the Ohio State Buckeyes got 6 votes.
