Myles Garrett misses 3rd straight practice due to lower body soreness

The Los Angeles Rams have enjoyed their first look at Myles Garrett during training camp as the reigning Defensive Player of the Year prepares for what could be his best season yet. However, that look has been limited as Garrett has missed the team’s last three practices due to injury.

On Sunday, head coach Sean McVay dove into the reason behind Garrett’s absence, citing soreness in his defender’s lower half. Despite the initial cause for concern, there’s no belief that this is a major issue.

“He has a little soreness in his lower half, but he – nothing to worry about,” McVay said, via the Los Angeles Times. “We are erring on the side of being smart with him.”

As a preventive measure, Garrett will be held out of Monday’s practice as well, but is expected to return for the team’s final practice block before they return to their Woodland Hills facility.

The Rams are set to engage in several joint practices this preseason. Garrett’s attendance for those will be closely monitored if this injury changes course and becomes a long-term issue.
