Around 9:45 p.m. on April 1, Ventura County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the 2100 block of E. Ventura Boulevard after receiving reports of an assault with a deadly weapon, according to the agency.

They discovered Daniel Brooks, a 32-year-old Camarillo man, with multiple gunshot wounds, according to the sheriff’s office. He was taken to Los Robles Regional Medical Center, where he later died.
