Through the 2024-25 season, the Los Angeles Lakers have had a total of 506 players suit up for them, going back to their days in Minneapolis. Some were forgettable, some were serviceable, some were good and a select few were flat-out legendary.
During the Lakers’ 80th season of existence (they were founded back in 1946 as the Detroit Gems in the National Basketball League), LeBron Wire is taking a look at each player who has worn their jersey, whether it has been a purple and gold one or the ones they donned back in the Midwest during their early years.
After a four-year stint at American University, Andre Ingram started his pro basketball career with the Utah Flash of the NBA Developmental League (now the G League). Beginning with the 2013-14 campaign, he spent parts of five seasons with the D-Fenders, the Lakers’ D-League team that is now known as the South Bay Lakers.
Near the end of the 2017-18 season, Los Angeles called him up to the NBA, and in his NBA debut, he scored 19 points while hitting four 3-pointers against the Houston Rockets. He played in only one more game that season, but it was a feel-good story for the 32-year-old 6-foot-3 shooting guard.
Ingram appeared in four games with L.A. the following year and totaled two rebounds, one steal and no points in 15 minutes. He spent some more time with South Bay in the G League over the next few seasons before ending his pro basketball career.
