Our weekly high school football staff picks are back, and they are better than ever.
Nothing is on the line other than bragging rights between sports reporter Jose Quintero and freelance journalists Todd Hadler and Jason Reed.
But we’ve switched things up a bit, inviting a local favorite for high school football talk and highlights sharing on Instagram @HighDesert_FootballReport to be part of this season-long endeavor.
After the first week of action in the High Desert, Reed sits atop the rankings going 8-3 last week, with a game-lead over Quintero. Reed was the only person to correctly pick Adelanto’s victory over Castaic.
Here are our Week 1 picks.
Each week, we will keep a running tab of our leaderboard throughout the season, up until there are no local teams left vying for a CIF-Southern Section title in the playoffs.
