In a recent ranking of the top ten receivers in the NFL by league executives and coaches, Drake London was left out. Instead, he was named as an honorable mention selection. Not cracking the list has more to do with factors that are beyond his control as a member of the Atlanta Falcons.
In a recent article, Jeremy Fowler highlights how the league feels about Drake London with a statement from an NFL coach:
“Really solid in most areas, great at the 50-50 catch, great in the red zone. He won’t take the top off as often as some others, more of a possession guy, but really good in his role. He’d probably be more of a household name with better QB play.” –NFL coordinator”.
While Drake London is still able to play at a high level without great quarterback play, you plug him into any offense with an elite quarterback in the league, and he would perform like a top 5 receiver. Unfortunately for him, the Falcons just haven’t been able to get it right. That has yet to stop him from getting his credit for how special a talent he is.
