It’s Friday Night Hero time and this week was light on total games played, but not short on great performances.
So get ready to vote once again for this week’s Friday Night Hero. But before we look at this week’s honorees, let’s take a look back at last week’s winner.
You voted and you chose Desert Hot Springs quarterback Jaylen Turner. Turner had three touchdown passes including the game-winner in the final seconds to lift the Golden Eagles to an impressive win.

Whoever has the most votes at noon on Thursday will be declared the weekly winner. Here are this week’s honorees in alphabetical order.
Roman Ansley, La Quinta
What he did: Ansley put the Blackhawks on his back as he helped lead a furious comeback with three touchdown passes against Central to turn a 22-0 deficit into a 29-29 tie in regulation before the Blackhawks fell in overtime.
Ivan Camargo, Coachella Valley
What he did: Camargo had all three touchdowns for the Arabs in a narrow 21-18 defeat to Valley View on Friday. He had a pair of 10-yard touchdown runs and a 65-yard screen pass he turned into a score.
Logan Candelaria, Twentynine Palms
What he did: Candelaria was everywhere on the field last night as he hauled in a pair of touchdown receptions for the first two scores of the game. He also added a forced fumble and recovery later in the game on defense as the Wildcats won their third in a row.
Javier Godinez, Cathedral City
What he did: It’s hard to make more of an impact on defense than Godinez did in Friday’s 34-28 win over San Gorgonio. He had three interceptions, one which he brought back 65 yard for a touchdown and one that ended the visitors’ attempt a game-winning drive late in the contest.
Aiden Shannon, Yucca Valley
What he did: Shannon has been steady all year and Friday night was anther example. He had one rushing touchdown and a pair of passing scores as the Trojans pulled away from Deset Hot Springs for a 28-7 win.
