Homicide detectives are investigating a shooting that left one man dead and three other people wounded in a shooting in Needles on Wednesday, July 23, authorities said.
The gunfire was first reported about 6:40 a.m. at a home in the 1900 block of Erin Drive, according to San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department officials.
“Upon arriving, [deputies] discovered four people who had been shot,” department spokeswoman Mara Rodriguez said. “One person was pronounced deceased at the scene and three others transported to hospitals for treatment.”
The man killed in the shooting was identified by coroner’s officials as William Garhartt, 52, of Needles. The shooting location was described in records as the home of a friend of the victim.
A description of the three people wounded in the shooting, as well as updates on their conditions, were not available.
Dispatch logs indicated an arrested was made at the scene, however, no information regarding a possible suspect was released as the investigation continued Thursday.
