Known to be a big basketball fan, former President of the United States Barack Obama had questions for Steve Kerr.
According to Wright Thompson of ESPN, President No. 44 asked Kerr about the status of Jonathan Kuminga at a dinner party last summer.
“Coach, what’s going to happen with Kuminga?” asked Obama.
This was of course before the former No. 7 overall pick signed a two-year $46.8 million contract ending his contract dispute with Golden State’s front office.
After averaging 12.1 points in his first 20 games of the season, Kuminga was traded to the Atlanta Hawks in exchange for another former NBA Champion, Kristaps Porzingis.
Neither player was a big enough difference maker for their new teams, with the Warriors failing to reach the playoffs. Atlanta, on the other hand, earned the No. 6 seed in the East but fell in the first round to the New York Knicks.
