Did you feel it? Earthquake strikes Friday morning near Anza

A 3.4-magnitude earthquake struck near Anza on Friday, Dec. 19, with some residents reporting shaking in the Coachella Valley.

The earthquake was reported just before 7 a.m. Friday, Dec. 19, about 12 miles east-southeast of Anza. The earthquake had a reported depth of just over 8 miles.

Responses recorded by the U.S. Geological Survey showed people in several valley cities, including Cathedral City, Palm Desert and La Quinta, felt shaking from the morning earthquake. There were no immediate reports of injuries or damaged structures.
