In the mood for some live entertainment this weekend? Here are The Desert Sun’s picks for the can’t-miss performances in the Coachella Valley and surrounding communities on May 29 to 31.

Sunday: MANÁ at Acrisure Arena
Rock: The Mexican rock band MANÁ is not just renowned in Mexico and the Southwest U.S., but around the globe. Since 1986, MANÁ has recorded 11 albums and sold over 50 million units, has over a billion streams a year on Spotify, has 12.1 billion lifetime views on YouTube, and has performed concerts in 30 countries. Part of that success came following international touring during the 1990s and the band’s appearance on Carlos Santana’s 1999 Grammy Award-winning and multi-platinum album, “Supernatural.”
MANÁ will perform on Sunday at Acrisure Arena. It’s the first of two shows at the arena as part of the band’s Vivir Sin Aire tour, the second will be on Saturday, Sept. 26.

Friday: The Cle Elum at The Dune Room
Rock: The indie rock band The Cle Elum features the husband and wife duo Ian Lee and Sarah Sargent Pepper. They started the band during COVID-19 while their tour transportation and services company, Affordable Tour Solutions, was temporarily on hold. In 2024, The Cle Eleum released its debut album “It’s Ok If It Falls Apart” featuring songs such as “…Remember When” and “I Need Your Harmony.”
The Cle Elum will perform on Friday at The Dune Room.

Tribute: If you love Van Halen and the band’s songs such as “Runnin’ with the Devil,” “Panama,” “Jump,” and more, you’ll love the tribute band Fan Halen. The Southern California band describes itself as “World’s Most Authentic Tribute” to Van Halen and performs material from the era when David Lee Roth was the frontman.
Fan Halen will perform on Friday in the Rock Yard at Fantasy Springs Resort Casino.

Saturday: The Fab Four at Agua Caliente Resort Casino Spa
Tribute: How many tribute bands have won Emmy Awards? The Beatles tribute band, The Fab Four, won an Emmy Award in 2013 for its PBS special titled “The Fab Four: The Ultimate Tribute.” Since 1997, the Orange County band has been performing note-for-note live renditions of Beatles classics. When The Fab Four performs on Saturday at Agua Caliente Resort Casino Spa, expect to hear classics such as “Hey Jude,” “Here Comes the Sun,” “Yesterday,” and more.
