The 12th annual Clear the Shelters campaign is coming to San Bernardino County’s Big Bear and Devore animal shelters in August.
Throughout the month, each qualifying adoption at both locations will include spaying or neutering, a microchip and age-appropriate vaccinations.
To help ease the transition to pet parenthood, MetLife Pet Insurance will offer 30 days of complimentary pet insurance.
Special pet kickoff events will be held at the Big Bear and Devore Animal Shelters from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Aug. 8 and 9, and will feature vendors, family-friendly activities, adoptable pets and information about supporting pets in need.
The Devore Animal Shelter is located at 19777 Shelter Way in Devore, and the Big Bear Animal Shelter is located at 42080 North Shore Drive in Big Bear.
The Animals Are First Fund is sponsoring adoption fees for cats and dogs throughout the month-long campaign.
Last year, the campaign helped 474 animals at Devore and Big Bear shelters find their forever homes.
