Byron Young appears devastated over Rams trading away Jared Verse

After the Los Angeles Rams struck a deal to acquire Myles Garrett, one thing became abundantly clear: Jared Verse was beloved in the locker room, and he will be sorely missed. Quentin Lake penned a heartfelt message to Verse after the Rams traded him to the Browns, and Byron Young shared an emotional farewell to the young pass rusher on Instagram, too.

Young posted several photos and videos on his Instagram story, writing that he’s “sick” over the news and told Verse, “Meet you at the top brudda.”

One photo he posted of himself and Verse simply had a broken heart emoji, showing how devastating this news is for Young.

Young and Verse have been the Rams’ top two pass rushers for the last two seasons, growing together as young defenders in Los Angeles. They came into the league in different draft classes, but as two studs in the Rams’ outside linebacker room, they became incredibly close.

Verse even wore a “Step Brothers”-inspired shirt of himself and Young to the first team meeting last year.

And when they were mic’d up in practice, all they did was push each other and trade trash talk on the field, which was a treat to watch.

It’s sad to see these two on separate teams now because they had a real bond in Los Angeles.
