The Palm Desert girls’ water polo team was the unquestioned top squad in the Desert Empire League this year, sweeping through the regular season and winning the carousel.
So it’s no surprise that the Aztecs are well-represented on the all-DEL girls’ water polo team, voted on by the league’s coaches. In fact, Palm Desert swept the major awards.
The Aztecs’ Jolie Faraci and Nadia Frutkin were offensive co-MVPs, while goalkeeper Hayden Trent was the league’s defensive MVP.
Palm Desert had six other players make the all-league first team.
