Investigators are reaching out to the public for help in identifying a dozen attackers who robbed and beat a 16-year-old boy at Civic Center Park in Apple Valley.
The crime took place shortly before 9 p.m. on Saturday, May 31, at the park, 14999 Dale Evans Parkway, San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department officials said.

The young victim was walking through the southern end of the park when he was approached by three female suspects and nine male suspects, estimated to be between 16 and 25 years old, the agency said in a written statement.
“A female in the group ripped the victim’s necklace off his neck and a male punched the victim on the right side of his head,” according to the statement. “The victim fell to the ground and was repeatedly punched and kicked by the subjects. The female who initially ripped off the victim’s necklace, took his wallet which contained his debit card.”
The victim suffered several cuts to his face. He was treated at St. Mary’s Hospital in Apple Valley the day of the incident and released that day, according to San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department spokeswoman Gloria Orejel.
Officials said the debit car was used about 40 minutes later at a nearby liquor store.
One of the female suspects and several of the male suspects were captured on surveillance camera footage inside the story, and investigators are asking the public for help in identifying them.
Anyone with any information was urged to contact Detective Kevin Riberich of the Sheriff’s Apple Valley Station at (760) 240-7400, or Sheriff’s Dispatch at (760) 956-5001. Information may also be submitted anonymously to the We-Tip hotline at (800) 782-7463.
