60 high school baseball players to watch as the CIF-SS playoffs begin

The road to a CIF-Southern Section championship starts Thursday, and the High Desert enters the postseason with no shortage of players capable of carrying their teams deep into May.

From Division 3 through Division 9, local teams across the Mojave River, Desert Sky, Cross Valley and Agape leagues have spent the spring building resumes worthy of playoff baseball.

Now comes the challenge every team waits for. 

Survive and move on.

The High Desert has several teams capable of turning this postseason into a memorable run, aiming to be our first CIF-SS champion since Academy for Academic Excellence, which captured the Division 7 crown in 2016. 

As the playoffs begin this week, we’ve got you covered with some of the names to watch this postseason. Here’s a list of five players to watch from each team, with all statistics provided by MaxPreps.com.
