49ers QB Brock Purdy builds his perfect tight end at TE University

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy has spent his career playing alongside one of the best tight ends of this generation in George Kittle, so the former seventh-round pick understands the importance of the position to the game.

With that, Purdy joined Kittle and several other NFL tight ends last week at TE University, where tight ends put in work on the field and in the classroom to share tips and tricks that they use with each other.

Purdy was there throwing to the tight ends, and during an interview, the quarterback took attributes of some of the best tight ends of all time to build his perfect tight end.

Purdy took Kittle’s speed, Rob Gronkowski’s blocking ability, Travis Kelce’s route running, Jason Witten’s IQ, Antonio Gates’ hands and Tony Gonzalez’s contested catch ability.

Those are arguably the top six tight ends of the century, and putting them all together would be remarkable. Honestly, Kittle’s speed might be the worst of the answers because while he’s definitely fast for his size, Vernon Davis, another legendary 49ers tight end, held the fastest 40-yard dash by a tight end before Oregon’s Kenyon Sadiq broke that this year.

Still, it’s understandable that Purdy had to show love to his guy right away.
