The San Francisco 49ers made three selections through the first three rounds of the 2026 NFL draft, and on Day 3, they made their first pick at No. 107, selecting defensive lineman Gracen Halton.
Halton is set to join a 49ers defense led by new coordinator Raheem Morris, who replaced Robert Saleh in the role this offseason.
Before Halton lands in San Francisco, let’s get to know the defensive lineman.
Measurables
Halton stands at 6-foot-2 and weighs 293 pounds. At the combine, he ran a 4.82-second 40-yard dash with a 10.70-second 10-yard split. He also recorded a 36.5-inch vertical jump and a 114-inch broad jump.
College career
Halton was a four-star recruit out of St. Augustine High School in San Diego, California, before committing to the University of Oklahoma. With the Sooners, he appeared in 47 games and recorded 84 tackles, 8.5 sacks, three forced fumbles, two passes defensed and two fumble recoveries. He also earned All-SEC honors in 2025.
Flipping Commitment
Out of high school, Halton originally committed to Oregon, but when Mario Cristobal left the Ducks to coach at Miami (FL), the defensive lineman took his talents elsewhere.
Expected role
After losing Jordan Elliott, Kevin Givens and Kalia Davis, the 49ers needed to address the interior defensive line in this draft. Halton will likely compete with 2025 fourth-round pick C.J. West for opportunities behind Osa Odighizuwa and Alfred Collins.
