Three people died and two others suffered major injuries following a solo-vehicle rollover crash on the 15 Freeway in Yermo on Monday, authorities said.
The crash took place about 12:50 p.m. June 22 on the northbound 15 Freeway near Calico Road in the unincorporated San Bernardino County community roughly 14 miles east of Barstow, according to California Highway Patrol logs.
The lone involved vehicle rolled over and ended up back on its wheels near the center divider.
Three victims died from their injuries at the scene, according to CHP and Cal Fire officials. Their identities were not yet released.
Rescue helicopters were landed on the roadway to rush two additional patients to trauma centers. At least one of the patients was described as a child.
Animal control officials were summoned to take charge of two French bulldogs that survived the wreck, logs show.
No further details were available as the investigation remained in its early stages.
