Two men were arrested early April 20 in the Thousand Oaks area for their alleged role in the theft of multiple tires and car rims.
Ventura County Sheriff’s Sgt. Kelly Roark said dispatchers were alerted to the presence of the men’s vehicle in east county around midnight. The vehicle had been flagged from previous thefts, and deputies were notified of its whereabouts. The sheriff’s office is contracted to provide police services in Thousand Oaks.
The pair, who were described as being from out of the area, had allegedly been on a theft spree when they were caught.
“As for now, it was happening in east county,” Roark said.
About a half dozen car owners who started to leave their homes in the morning discovered the thefts and called the sheriff’s office, Roark said before 9 a.m. More victims were possible.
Anyone with information about the thefts can call Thousand Oaks station’s non-emergency line at 805-494-8200.
