What makes new Michigan football commit Ifeanyi Emedobi special

On Thursday, Michigan football added an excellent piece to the 2027 class, with Fort Wayne (Ind.) Northrop four-star edge rusher Ifeanyi Emedobi pledged to the Wolverines. But what does the 6-foot-2, 214-pound pass rusher bring to the table?

Emedobi is coming off his first year playing high school football and yet managed a self-reported 50 tackles, 19 tackles for loss, 5.5 sacks, and two forced fumbles. Even after just one year, his upside is apparent, and he’s drawing a lot of comparisons to former Wolverines pass rusher Josh Uche, who thrived despite having similar measurables.

According to 247Sports’ Andrew Ivins, Emedobi ran a 4.48-second 40-yard dash and has a 37.7-inch vertical leap.
