It’s time to vote for the final winter sports season Moore Mechanical Athlete of the Week for the Petoskey-area.
All results for this week’s poll come from Monday, March 2 through Sunday, March 8 from Emmet and Charlevoix Counties.
Congratulations to Pellston’s Connor Keller on being named the Moore Mechanical Athlete of the Week a week ago!
Keller had a strong week on the basketball court for the Hornets and earned 41.23% of the vote to earn the Athlete of the Week honor.
Vote for these athletes from Monday, March 9 to 4 p.m., Thursday, March 12. Look for another Moore Mechanical Athlete of the Week from the Petoskey-area next week.

Lucy Joyce, Boyne City basketball
Joyce really came on strong late in her freshman season and added some key scoring to the Rambler lineup. She had eight points in a district opener vs. Charlevoix, then added nine in a season-ending loss to Elk Rapids.
Hadley McCafferty, East Jordan basketball
McCafferty stepped up and had to play extra minutes in an exhausting regional game vs. Elk Rapids, finishing with 11 points and a number of rebounds in the loss.
Makayla Beach, Harbor Springs basketball
Beach had a standout game to get Harbor’s girls into the district final, finishing with 18 points against Mancelona.
Sawyer Blaszczyk, Charlevoix wrestling
Blaszczyk claimed a Division 4 individual state championship on the mat, bringing him back to Athlete of the Week one final time in the winter. He earned an overtime victory within the 285-pound division at Ford Field Saturday.
Ella Sulitis, Petoskey basketball
For the second time vs. Sault Ste. Marie, Sulitis, only a freshman, nailed a game-winner. She finished with 16 points vs. the Sault and the final basket with 24 seconds left. She also had 14 pts. vs. Kalkaska last week.
