According to Downdetector.com, some Michigan Verizon customers are reporting outages on Wednesday, Jan. 14.
Quickly becoming a trending topic on social media, users across the U.S. mentioned the outages in North Carolina, New York, New Jersey, Louisiana, Tennessee and more, USA TODAY reported.
As of 1:34 p.m. Wednesday, outages reported by users are down from 169,066 around at 12:49 p.m.
According to the Downdetector map, customers in Michigan’s Lower Peninsula reported the most outages across the state.
Mobile users got “Call Failed” notices when attempting to make calls and found an “SOS” icon replacing the signal strength symbols, showing an issue on the network.
“We are aware of an issue impacting wireless voice and data services for some customers,” Verizon told USA TODAY in a statement. “Our engineers are engaged and are working to identify and solve the issue quickly. We understand how important reliable connectivity is and apologize for the inconvenience.”
