Two men were taken to the hospital in critical condition after a rollover crash early June 2 on southbound US-23 in Hartland Township, according to the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies were dispatched at 5:46 a.m. to a single-vehicle crash on southbound US-23 north of Clyde Road in Hartland Township.
According to an initial investigation, a 20-year-old Flint man was traveling south on US-23 when he lost control of his vehicle and left the roadway. The vehicle went into the ditch, LCSO said, and rolled several times. Both the driver and passenger, a 21-year-old Flint man, were ejected from the vehicle.
They were taken to the University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor in critical condition, according to LCSO. They weren’t wearing seat belts at the time of the crash, police said, and alcohol and speed appear to be contributing factors.
The roadway was closed for about two hours for investigation and clean up.
The LCSO Traffic Safety Bureau is continuing to investigate.
