Michigan State basketball has been quiet in the transfer portal so far, but that hasn’t changed one national analyst from having the Spartans’ as his top team in his early rankings for next season.
Despite some transfer portal strikeouts, national college basketball analyst Seth Davis remains extremely high on the Spartans for next season. Davis released a new batch of his “never-too-early” rankings for next season and the Spartans are still his No. 1 team in the country. He was one of a few that initially had Michigan State as the No. 1 team in their preseason rankings for next year, and he is still high on Michigan State a few weeks later.
Right behind Michigan State in Davis’ poll is Illinois (No. 2), UConn (No. 3), Duke (No. 4), Arizona (No. 5) and rival Michigan (No. 6). He has six other teams from the Big Ten in his updated poll: Ohio State (No. 17), Purdue (No. 18), UCLA (No. 19), Indiana (No. 20), Wisconsin (No. 23) and Nebraska (No. 24).
