As the federal government began a partial shutdown Wednesday, Oct. 1, recent polling continued to show President Donald Trump with low approval ratings eight months into his second term in office.
Several nationwide polls conducted in late September demonstrated largely negative views on the president, with disapproval ratings in the 50 percentage range — except for Rasmussen Reports, which showed a 48% disapproval rating.
The polls came just ahead of an ongoing federal government shutdown, and amid the Trump administration’s controversial moves on immigration, national guard deployments, health care and the economy.
